The easiest way to find the correct maTokens to summon your Aavegotchi
Intro
maTokens are AAVE interest-bearing aTokens that reside in the polygon network layer. You need these maTokens to summon your Aavegotchi. The Aavegotchi you want will have a specific maToken that is needed to be added as collateral to summon.
The two most common ways to get maTokens are:
Buying the token in AAVE and using the Aavegotchi bridge to transfer them
Swapping the token on a DEX that resides on the Matic Network
The first option requires more steps and tends to be more costly as you need to pay an ETH gas fee to transfer your tokens from L1<>L2. The second option takes fewer steps and IMO is cheaper in the long run. We’ll focus on the second option in this tutorial.
Step 1
Head over to QuickSwap to swap your tokens for maTokens. Here’s a list you can use to find the maToken needed for your Aavegotchi summoning.
Pretty much all you need to do is add “ma”+ token name to find the correspondent one.
Step 2
Swap your tokens and get the minimum amount that your Aavegotchi requires.
Once the swap is done and you have the maTokens they will reflect in the Aavegotchi portal.
Step 3
Add the maTokensns to your gotchi and then you will be able to summon your buddy. And that’s it!
